I was thinking about the dubious ethics of me using other people’s pictures for the titles of my Flash stories, and I wondered how practical it would be to draw my own title screens, or at least my own thumbnails. So as a test I tried redrawing the thumbnail I used for my Dog’s Pet story. To hopefully save time, I skipped using vectors and just decided to wing-it by tracing outlines over a scaled-down picture, which is tricky to do. Making this pixel-art still took over 5 hours. Which is not too bad considering that it’s 100x80 pixels in size and contains 2 characters.

I don’t know if I can find the motivation to attempt redrawing every title used in every game and story. That would require making 60 pictures. But maybe this is worth considering going forward.
