Of course if I make this change, most the the links to my website will break because all of the URLs changed. Most of my website's files are currently inside of `www.humbird0.com/content` . But I can transparently avoid that by using [a redirect](https://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.4/mod/mod_alias.html#redirect) to tell browsers to go to `www.humbird0.com/makes` instead. The old web engineers thought of this.

I should also think ahead a little. At some point I might want to put other things on my Favorite Stuff "website" besides just a list of artists. So "Favorite Artists" should just be one of its sections. I can add more later.

It's kind of funny. It would be trivial to just tack-on another section or two to my existing website instead. But the well-organized part of my brain knows that I can do better, and demands it.

... Which turns something simple into something daunting. Don't get me wrong, I can totally do this, but it will take some time to design 2 more websites. In the meantime I still want people to be able to see my favorite artists without having to keep track of which mastodon instance I moved to today. So let's just put this [favorite artists gallery](http://www.humbird0.com/likes/artists/content.htm) in its intended future location. And in time, a "favorite things" website will emerge around it.

Up until now my artist recommendation page was mostly pictures with one animated Gif that I improvised for one of the artists. But that approach was going to get very bloated very fast. I knew I needed actual videos for animated thumbnails. I figured this would be trivial.
